International Association of Art "The Muse" was founded as a nonprofit organization in Athens, Greece in 2001 by a group of graduates of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. The association's members are not only Russian compatriots who happened to live and carry on the tradition of Russian performing and teaching art in different countries of the world, but also the Greek musicians, artists and actors, diplomats and writers, in one way or another connected with Russia.
The main goal of "The Muse" is to search, support and promote talented young people. For this purpose, the association organizes various events, among which, is the International Competition for Young Musicians "The Muse". It is held on one of the most beautiful islands, Santorini, and has been under the auspices of the Russian Embassy in Greece and supported by the Greek government. Every year, the competition attracts musicians from around the world, expanding its influence and importance. Over 500 talented musicians from 57 countries of 4 continents have taken part in the competition, many of which have become successful artists on the international music stage.
One of the most important aspects of organizing the International Competition for Young Musicians "The Muse" has always been to create a calm, pleasant and friendly atmosphere among the participants. Invited jury members are prominent musicians from around the world who offer their honest opinion and fair judging at the competition. Now in its 10th year, and despite the ongoing economic crisis, the International Competition for Young Musicians "The Muse" continues its mission and has grown into a major international music forum.
