The 5th International Piano Competition "The Muse" is under the patronage of
the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism, and the Embassy of Russia in Greece

The 5th International Piano Competition "The Muse" will take place on one of the most beautiful islands in Greece - Santorini. Tourists and people from this island will have a wonderful opportunity to listen to young pianists from the 1st until the 8th of September 2009. The main goal of the competition is to discover and to introduce new talents to their potential admirers.

Previous editions of the competition caught immediate attention of young musicians around the globe. They came to Santorini to show their talents and artistic abilities, to receive recognition from the jury members and the audience alike.  Everyone involved with the competition, whether they were participants, jury members, organizers or audience, could feel and enjoy a friendly, but still competitive atmosphere. It was a festival of music and friendship!

The auditions of the 5th competition will be held in the same concert hall - Megaro GYZI. This mansion, beatiful combination of architecture style of the island and barocco, was built in the 17th century. It has been recently restored and given new uses to make it once more part of the life of the island. Every summer Megaro GYZI hosts cultural events including music festivals, theatrical performances, exhibitions and from 2005 newly added event – International Piano Competition "The Muse"!
