15-year-old cellist from Turkey performs J. Haydn – Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major, I. Moderato
About the artist
Born in 2002, Ayça Gökdeniz began her musical studies at the age of seven by playing accordion in the “Music for Peace” Foundation. In 2014, Ayca was accepted to the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory and became a student of Dilbag Tokay. During her studies at the conservatory she also participated in Alexander Rudin and Christoph Henkel’s masterclasses.
As a member of Cello Ensemble, she has given concerts in Izmir, Istanbul and Ayvalik. She has played Vivaldi, Boccherini and Haydn concertos with various orchestras as a soloist.
Ayca has won the first prizes in competitions such as International Young Musicians Competition in Italy and the International German-Austrian Music Competition in Bulgaria, where she was also awarded the ”Foundation Virtus Arts” prize.
Ayca continues her studies at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory with Dilbag Tokay.
