14-year-old violinist from Spain performs H. Wieniawski – Scherzo Tarantelle, Op. 16
About the artist
Javier Burgos-Piquer started studying violin at the age of 5 with José Miguel Rodrigo and since 2016 he has been under the guidance of Victoria Lorente at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Valencia. There he is currently the concertmaster of the conservatory orchestra and member of the Violines de Seda violin ensemble. He is the winner of several national competitions, such as the Fes Art competition in Valencia and the Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes music contest in Benisanó, and recently has become the second prize winner at the V London International Music Competition.
Javier has performed in student concerts at the Marqués de Dos Aguas Palace, the Clemente Hall and the Auditorium of the Institut Français in Valencia. He has also taken part in the recording of the 2018 Fes Art Competition Winners CD. Moreover, he has performed as solo violinist acompanied by the Conservatory Orchestra at the Palau de la Música de Valencia Symphony Hall and the Auditorium of the Palma de Mallorca Conservatory.
In addition, Javier Burgos-Piquer received a scholarship for the 2018 Burgos International Music Festival, where he attended violin masterclasses with Prof. Savely Shalman and joined the Festival Orchestra in concerts at the Burgos Cathedral. He has recently been selected as a reserve violinist for the first orchestral training stage of the Royal Concertgebouw Youth Orchestra.
