23-year-old accordionist from Czech Republic performs J. S. Bach – Prelude and Fugue in G minor, BWV 861
About the artist
Czech accordionist Markéta Laštovičková was born in 1995 in Havlíčkův Brod and began studying the accordion at the age of 5 with her mother Ivana Laštovičková. From 2011 she studied at the Prague conservatory with Professor Ladislav Horák and since 2017 she studies at the Danish National Academy of Music with Professor Jytte von Rüden.
As a teenager she enjoyed her first major successes. She won the Czech conservatoire competition (2013, 2016), got the 1st prize at the International Accordion Competition in Pula, Croatia (2012, 2013, 2014), and has become a top prize winner of many international competitions in Slovakia, Italy, Russia, Germany, Portugal, and in her native Czech Republic. She was invited as a member of the jury for the International Accordion Competition in Alcobaca, Portugal (2018), the International Accordion Competition in Prague, Czech Republic (2018).
In June Markéta Laštovičková made her debut with the recital at the Prague Spring International Festival (the first accordion recital in the history of this famous festival).
As a soloist and a chamber music musician she performed in many European countries such as Germany, Italy, Russia, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Croatia, Slovakia.
Markéta is going to play the concert tour in China (June 2019) and Finlad (May 2019) with her chamber music group Kontrast Duo (Markéta Laštovičková – accordion, Magdaléna Ochmanová – piano) and is invited as a teacher for the Master Class in Haguenau, France (January 2020).
